The YAMawards are the international music awards that honour creativity and innovation in Young Audiences Music productions. Since the YAMawards launched in 2008 only the best of the best in Young Audiences Music productions have prevailed. The level of craft, depth of storytelling and passion inherent to each finalist and winner, a testament to what it takes to truly engage and inspire young minds. We are looking once more for the world's best live music productions for young audiences! The 2022 edition of the YAMawards (Young Audiences Music Awards) is now open and officially accepting nominations. The international awards honour creativity and innovation in the field of musical productions for young audiences, celebrating the art of connecting young people and children with music and culture in ways that inspire, enlighten and delight. Participation is open to all music-based live productions for audiences up to 18 years of age. Whether soloist, group, ensemble or orchestra, the main criteria are: - Quality of Music - Quality of Performance - Relevance/Necessity of the Program - Audience Communication - International Touring Potential. The YAMAs are open to 6 distinct categories each with its own winner: - Best small ensemble - for Young Audiences Award - Best large ensemble - for Young Audiences Award (Groups of 8+ / Orchestras / Etc) - Best school concert - for Young Audiences Award - Best digital production - for Young Audiences Award (honorary mention) - Best opera - for Young Audiences Award - Participatory project - with Young Audiences Award (Projects where the participation of young audiences / the process are the main focus) On top of these, cash prizes will be presented to the Public Choice Award that will be selected from amongst the top 4 nominees in each category. The YAMAs are governed by international juries composed of young audiences professionals from JM International (JMI) and RESEO (the European Network for Opera & Dance Education). The 2022 YAMA nominees will be announced by mid-September 2022 when they will be placed online and open to public voting. The winners are to be announced at the YAMAwards Ceremony that will take place in Brugge, Belgium during the 2022 YAMsession. This international music conference, held from the 17th to the 20th of October, includes international showcases, a producer’s forum and a host of provocative talks, encounters and debates between creative professionals working in the field of young audiences' music development. YAMawards entries must be submitted by June 20th. The rules and online application form are available at YAM (Young Audiences Music) is an official program of JM International (JMI), the world’s largest youth music NGO. The platform is dedicated to bringing live music to children and youth worldwide (20,000+ concerts held annually) as well as providing support to professionals in this space.
