JM International invites our members to join us for the 77th JMI Global and Anual General Assembly (AGA) to be held in Banyoles, Spain between the 11th to the 16th of July 2022. The JMI Global is a 2-day conference to be held on the 12th and 13th of July at the L’Ateneu in Banyoles. Under the theme Rhythms of Resilience, the JMI Global will take delegates on a journey of reflection, discovery and learning from around the measures being taken in the international youth-music community to create more resilient and sustainable cultural movements that enable youth to creatively thrive. The JMI Global is an open event for anyone engaged in the world of youth and music. It features showcases by amazing young musicians, inspirational talks, vibrant networking, wonderous workshops and more! The JMI Global provides something for everybody, sparking collaboration and exchange in order to make a greater impact on the world through music. The JMI AGA will take place on the 14th and 15th of July. The JMI AGA (Annual General Assembly) brings together the JM International network from around the world in order to advance the global youth and music agenda. It is the democratic heart of the organisation, deciding on statutory issues, holding elections for its’ various program bodies and shaping the future of the movement. It is also a moment for members to connect and engage, to recharge, be inspired and share best practices from around the globe. As always, JMI Members have a special package reserved for them that includes participation in the JMI Global + AGA, accommodation, meals and more. PROGRAMME OUTLINE 11 July : Arrivals 12 July : JMI Global Day 1 13 July : JMI Global Day 2 14 July : AGA Day 1 + Excursion 15 July : AGA Day 2 16 July : Departures ACCOMMODATION: HOTEL CARLEMANY GIRONA Delegates will be hosted at the Hotel Carlemany in Girona, 20mins away from Banyoles*. Hotel Carlemany Girona is ideally located 600 meters from the historic Barri Vell and 400 meters from Girona Train and Bus Station. The Carlemany has the Indigo Restaurant and Bar serves cocktails on a beautiful terrace. The Pati Verd offers a daily buffet breakfast, as well as regional cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. The Carlemany Hotel is located on a quiet street, close to Girona's main shops. Girona Cathedral and the Jewish Quarter are a 10-minute walk away. Every morning and evening participants will be shuttled to Banyoles for the conference. PRICE JMI Global + AGA (JMI Members Only): Price: €650 Includes: Participation, Stay at Hotel Carlemany: 11-16 July (5 nights), Food 12-15 July (Breakfast, Lunch + Dinner) BURSARIES JMI has 10 full bursaries to offer youth delegates (under 35) coming from member organnisations facing severe financial difficulties. Bursaries cover: Travel (Europe up to €250 / International: up to €700), Participation Fee, Accommodation, Food Bursaries don’t cover: - VISA costs, Personal expenses CONDITIONS - Delegates must cover their own travel to and from Girona. - Transportation to and from the JMI Global + AGA venue in Banyoles from the Hotel Carlemany will be provided. - Delegates are expected to take care of their own visas and all other official requirements, as well as ensure they have sufficient pocket money for their private expenses. - If invitation letters are required please contact JM International as soon as possible. Late requests will not be accepted. GETTING THERE By Plane: You can fly to either Girona Airport or Barcelona Airport. Landing in Girona: Take the Sagalés bus from Girona Airport to Girona bus station. Journey time: 25 minutes / Buses every hour from 4:30 to 00.30 / Price: 3€ approx. From Girona bus station to Hotel Carlemany you only have to walk for 7 minutes. Landing in Barcelona: From Barcelona, there will be shuttles to Girona at fixed times from the airport. Please ensure that you have given your arrival and departure times to the JMI team well in advance in order to reserve your place. By Train: Take a train to Girona Train Station. At Barcelona Airport, find the RENFE train station at Terminal 2 (the station can be accessed through an over-ground tunnel from the airport, with an inside walkway that connects them, so you do not have to go outside). At the train station take line R2 south to SANTS mainline TRAIN station. Journey time: 19 minutes / Trains every 30 minutes / Price: 3,80€ approx. At SANTS station buy a ticket to Girona (on the FIGUERES- PORTBOU line). There are three types of trains: Mid distance train: Journey time: 1h15min/ 11,25€ Regional train: Journey time: 2h10min / 8,40€ AVANT train: Journey time: 38min / 16,20€ The hotel is 400m from both train and bus stations.
